With deep sadness and sorrow SABE announces that on Thursday October 12, 2023, Dr. Shabnam Modarres Mousavi, former SABE president, passed away.
Shabnam was a great scholar, colleague, and friend. She will stay forever in our hearts and memories.
SABE passes its sincere condolences to Shabnam’s family and friends.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Shabnam Mousavi.
She was a great scholar, and she will be deeply missed.
She was passionate about mentoring young people, inspiring many to pursue careers in science; her legacy will live on in the work of her students, colleagues, and friends.
It is a great loss. May she rest in peace.
