SABE awards two prizes for exceptional academic research in Behavioural Economics or related fields. The prizes are primarily intended but not limited to help advance the career of young scholars and/or scholars who are at early stages of their career.
- John Tomer Award: This award honors the memory of John Tomer, co-founder, past president and outstanding member of SABE. The prize awards a scholar for research submitted and presented at the Early Career Researcher (ECR) workshop during the annual SABE or joint SABE-IAREP conference. Eligible are scholarly articles submitted before PhD graduation in any discipline pertinent to human decision making, including but not limited to theoretical, experimental, empirical, methodological, and heterogeneous. This prize is accompanied with a cash award of $200.
- Shabnam Mousavi Scholarship: This scholarship honors the memory of Shabnam Mousavi, past secretary, president and outstanding member of SABE. The prize is awarded to a scholar or scholars for research completed and submitted before Ph.D. graduation. Eligible are scholarly articles in any discipline pertinent to human decision making, including but not limited to theoretical, experimental, empirical, methodological, and heterogeneous. This prize is accompanied with a cash award of $1000.
